Introduction
Needle-punched exhibition carpet is produced from PET staple fiber through fiber preparation, blending, carding, needle punching, foam-binder impregnation, oven drying, inspection and roll packing.
This guide explains the production sequence used for B2B exhibition carpet orders and the specifications buyers should confirm before bulk production.
1. Raw Material Preparation
The process begins with polyester (PET) staple fiber selected to match the approved color and order specification. Fiber blend, color target and material source should be confirmed in writing; recycled content should not be assumed unless specifically stated.
Color matching is checked against the buyer’s approved sample before bulk production.
2. Blending and Carding
The fibers are opened, blended and carded into a uniform web. Consistency at this stage helps control basis weight, color distribution and performance during needle punching.
3. Needle Punching
Barbed needles repeatedly penetrate the web and mechanically entangle the fibers into a coherent nonwoven structure. Needle density and line settings are adjusted to the required surface appearance and basis weight.
4. Foam-Binder Impregnation and Oven Drying
After needle punching, the carpet web is foam-impregnated with a binder and then oven-dried. The finished construction, basis weight, surface feel and any required performance testing should be confirmed through written specifications and an approved sample.
5. Inspection, Roll Finishing and Export Packing
After finishing and inspection, the carpet is cut to the confirmed width and roll length, wound into rolls and packed for export. Common widths are 1.5 m, 1.83 m, 2 m, 3 m and 3.96 m, with a maximum width of 4 m. Common roll lengths are 25 m, 30 m and 50 m; other lengths can be confirmed for the order.
Final labeling, outer packing and any optional temporary surface-protection film should be confirmed in the purchase specification.
