What is needle-punched exhibition carpet?

Needle-punched exhibition carpet is a lightweight nonwoven floor covering made by mechanically entangling staple fibers with barbed needles. For WILLFLY project supply, the exhibition carpet is made from polyester (PET) staple fiber and supplied in rolls after foam-binder impregnation and oven drying. Carpet weight is customizable to the buyer’s written specification and approved sample.

It is used for trade-show aisles, booth floors and temporary venues because it covers large areas quickly and offers coordinated colors and practical roll handling. Optional temporary protective film can be applied to help keep the surface clean during booth construction and removed before the exhibition opens. Buyers should confirm venue rules, traffic, installation, roll dimensions, flame-test requirements and disposal or reuse plans before sampling. See the PET exhibition carpet product specifications for current factory options.

What are the main advantages for exhibition projects?

Needle-punched exhibition carpet is useful when a project needs fast coverage of a large area, planned roll dimensions and coordinated colors. Its main B2B sourcing advantages are:

  • Efficient project coverage: common widths of 1.5 m, 1.83 m, 2 m, 3 m and 3.96 m, with production up to 4 m, help planners reduce seams.
  • Practical roll planning: common roll lengths are 25 m, 30 m and 50 m, with other lengths available by specification.
  • Construction-site protection: optional temporary surface film helps keep the carpet clean during booth setup and is removed before opening.
  • Order-specific supply: weight is customizable, the carpet web is foam-impregnated with a binder and then oven-dried, and flame-retardant testing can be arranged to the confirmed standard.

The lowest unit price is not always the lowest installed cost; buyers should compare material, installation, waste, protective-film requirements, packing and freight together.

What carpet weight should buyers specify?

WILLFLY exhibition carpet weight is customizable rather than limited to one fixed catalogue range. The buyer should provide the target weight, application, expected traffic, installation method and any venue requirements; the agreed value and tolerance should then be recorded in the quotation and approved sample.

Surface weight does not define thickness, density or service life by itself. Performance also depends on PET fiber construction, needling density, binder application and oven drying, installation and traffic. If flame performance is required, confirm the applicable test standard, method and documentation before quotation and bulk production.

What roll sizes are available?

Roll size should be selected from the venue layout and handling plan, not only from the widest available production width. Fewer seams can improve appearance and installation speed, but very large rolls may be harder to lift, store or unload.

Common finished widths are 1.5 m, 1.83 m, 2 m, 3 m and 3.96 m, and the maximum production width is 4 m. Common roll lengths are 25 m, 30 m and 50 m; other lengths can be customized. Confirm finished-width tolerance, roll length, core size, maximum roll weight, packing method and container plan in the quotation.

How should buyers select colors?

Color should be confirmed with a physical swatch or approved sample rather than a screen image or digital color value. For WILLFLY exhibition carpet supply, the standard MOQ is 2,000 m² per color. Buyers should therefore plan each color quantity together with the venue layout, shade tolerance and repeat-order requirements.

Provide the target color, PET carpet weight, roll dimensions, backing, protective-film requirement and destination when requesting a sample. Typical sample preparation is about one week, and normal production is about two weeks after the specification, quantity and order are confirmed; the final schedule should be stated in the quotation.

How are exhibition carpet rolls packed?

Exhibition carpet is commonly rolled on a paper core and wrapped in plastic film or a plastic bag for transport. Paper or plastic end plugs, roll labels, woven outer bags, reinforced ends or palletizing can be added according to handling and destination requirements.

For booth-construction protection, an optional temporary film can also be applied over the usable carpet surface. It helps prevent dirt during installation and is peeled away before the exhibition opens. This surface-protection option is different from the outer roll wrapping and should be confirmed before production. Buyers should also confirm core size, roll diameter and weight, label information, outer packing strength, container condition and unloading method.

How are exhibition carpet rolls loaded in containers?

Rolls may be loaded horizontally in planned stacks, with selected rolls placed upright near the door when dimensions, roll construction and unloading conditions permit. The loading pattern should prevent crushing, unstable stacks and damage during unloading.

A container plan must use the actual roll width, diameter, gross weight, compression, protective-film option, container internal dimensions and payload limit. The table below preserves historical configurations for rough planning only: the listed weights do not define the current customizable weight range, and the quantities are not guaranteed. Final square meters and gross weight must be recalculated for the approved specification and packing.

How is needle-punched exhibition carpet installed?

Temporary exhibition carpet is often installed with approved double-sided tape, but the tape and method must match the substrate, venue rules, traffic and required removal condition. The floor should be clean, dry and level, and the installer should test adhesion and residue on a small area first.

Align roll direction and color batches, secure edges and seams, avoid trapped wrinkles, and protect transitions exposed to carts or rolling loads. Installation contractors should follow the venue’s fire, access and floor-protection requirements.

How long can exhibition carpet be used?

Many trade shows run for 3–5 days, but event duration is not the same as guaranteed carpet life. Serviceability depends on face weight, density, backing, traffic, rolling loads, moisture, installation quality and cleaning.

Longer events or higher-traffic aisles may require a heavier or denser construction, additional backing or a different flooring system. Give the supplier the venue type, expected traffic, event duration and reuse plan so the recommendation can be based on the full application rather than grams per square meter alone.

Can exhibition carpet be reused?

Exhibition carpet may be reused when it can be removed without tearing, kept clean and dry, rerolled correctly and stored without crushing or contamination. Reuse is never guaranteed by weight alone; seams, tape residue, stains, deformation and local fire or venue requirements must be checked before the next installation.

If reuse is planned, specify it before sampling so construction, roll size, installation and packing can be evaluated together. Recycling options also depend on fiber composition, backing and the facilities available at the destination.
